Netflix, which made a live-action Death Note and is working on live-action adaptations of Cowboy Bebop and One Piece, has apparently set its sights on making a live-action Pokémon as well. Variety reports that sources have told them that Joe Henderson of Lucifer will be writing and executive producing it.
While no details about the story have been released and the project is in very early stages, it appears it wants to do something similar to the movie Detective Pikachu, which came out two years ago and had the star power of Ryan Reynolds.
Variety said that it reached out to Netflix and Henderson but had not heard back at the time of publishing its article.
