Tatsuya Endo’s spy comedy Spy x Family has been doing so well that the sixth volume is receiving an initial print run in Japan of more than a million copies. Volume six becomes available on December 28, and at that point there will be more than eight million copies of the series (both print and digital) out in circulation.
So far VIZ has published the first three volumes in print, and is releasing individual chapters digitally.
Last year in January, Spy x Family had two million copies in print. The numbers have steadily increased over the year, with the franchise at three million in May and five and a half million in August. At that point Endo made a special illustration to celebrate. Guess this means we’ll have more celebratory illustrations to look forward to!
