Nogizaka46 Member Shows Off Rent-a-Girlfriend Cosplay

Nogizaka46 Member Shows Off Rent-a-Girlfriend CosplayThe world of idol singers and anime has collided again. Miona Hori, a member of AKB48 spinoff group Nogizaka46, has just posted some Rent-a-Girlfriend cosplay… and it’s really good!

Apparently, the Ruka Sarashina cosplay was prompted by requests from fans, perhaps because Hori and the character have similar haircuts, she speculated on her official blog.

Hori also wrote that she plans to do a lot of cosplay in October and hinted that her next character will be “the one whose ‘charm point’ is their hat.” Wonder who it could be?

Miona Hori joined Nogizaka46 in 2013, and debuted as a film actress in last year’s Hot Gimmick: Girl Meets Boy.

Famous cosplayer Enako recently showed off some Rent-a-Girlfriend cosplay too.

Rent-a-Girlfriend is, of course, the recently-ended anime series about, uh, renting a girlfriend. A second season was just announced. Here’s how Kodansha Comics describes the original manga by Reiji Miyajima:

In Japan, the lonely have a new way out — online services that rent out dads, children, even girlfriends! When Kazuya’s true love dumps him, he’s just desperate enough to try it, and he’s shocked at how cute and sweet his rental girlfriend turns out to be. But she wants to keep their “relationship” a secret, and there’s a complication… she goes to his university… and their grandmothers are in the same home… and they live next door to each other?! And Kazuya finds out she’s not nearly as nice in “real life”…
