Live-Action Cowboy Bebop Delayed Due to John Cho’s On-Set Injury
It looks like curious fans will need to wait a little longer to see how Netflix’s live-action Cowboy Bebop series turns out. Unfortunately, shortly after filming kicked off, lead actor John Cho—who plays Spike Spiegel in the adaptation—suffered a serious on-set injury that has production shutting down for 7 to 9 months.
Described as a “freak accident,” the knee injury took place during the filming of what was supposed to be the last take of a previously rehearsed scene. Cho will need to go into surgery and go through extensive rehab, hence the shutdown.
Production will resume once Cho has fully recovered. We’ll have to wait and see where this moves the series’ premiere to on the calendar.
