Tomohiko Ito is a busy director. Known for helming anime adaptations like Sword Art Online and ERASED, Ito’s next project takes things in an original direction. There aren’t any story details, but HELLO WORLD is a sci-fi love story anime film that puts Ito back in the director’s chair along with some top-tier talent.
Collaborators revealed thus far include writer Mado Nozaki (KADO: The Right Answer) and character designer Yukiko Horiguchi (K-ON!), who will be working on the series at animation production house Graphinica (Expelled from Paradise).
After expressing gratitude for the opportunity to make a new movie with a new team at the start of a new era, Ito added that this is something he has to do right now. While they can only provide the title at the moment, the team aims to make a movie that’s enjoyable for people all over the world.
HELLO WORLD is currently set for a fall 2019 premiere.
