Deciding what to do after high school can be tough for anyone, but sometimes outside forces make those forks in the road a bit easier to choose from. In the case of Yui Kusanagi, well, she doesn’t exactly have much say in the matter when Zeus drops her in a mysterious garden and sets her on the path of teaching eight hunky young gods about life, humanity, and love. That sets the stage nicely for Kamigami no Asobi, which is
on August 25.
It might seem like a difficult task to teach these moody gods about the way of life, but… did we mention how gorgeous they are? Yui is face to mythological face with gods from Greek, Norse, Egyptian, and Japanese mythology, including Appollon, Hades, Dionysus, Thor, Loki, Balder, Thoth, Anubis, Susanoo, and Tsukiyomi. It’s a veritable who’s who of heavenly hotties, and Yui’s determined to give their education the old college try, even as the world they’re trapped in continues to change unexpectedly.
Kamigami no Asobi is based on the otome visual novel by Nippon Ichi and Broccoli, originally released on PSP in Japan back in 2013. The anime adaptation is directed by Tomoyuki Kawamura (episodes of Innocent Venus and Daily Lives of High School Boys), with Tomoko Konparu (NANA, Blue Spring Ride) on series composition for the Brain’s Base production.
If this sounds like your kind of higher education,
