June 1, 2010 “Totally Ridiculous” being warm words of support for director Go Ohara (Geisha Assassin, Lion Maru G) and his nutty act of violence on the Japanese film industry. As is required of anything sporting gallons of blood spray and ridiculous weaponry, Gothic & Lolita Psycho sports the effects work of Tokyo Gore Police‘s Yoshihiro Nishimura, and his results are splattered all over the latest trailer.
This subgenre may as well be coined cosplay carnage, or perhaps some other reference to the various occupations and/or articles of clothing used as their primary gimmicks. For instance, the latter half of the “gag” trailer may remind some of Noboru Iguchi’s Robogeisha, what with the deadly serious list-off of weaponry at our heroine’s disposal.
It’s hard to imagine a movie that utters the following line won’t at least be a little fun: “I request earnestly, please show me your butt!” We’ll see when Gothic & Lolita Psycho is finally blasting into our eyes. For now, feast them on the trailers below.
