This is as good a reason as any to make your way over to New York City in late April. The PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature, which runs from April 29th to May 4th, will be featuring, among a plethora of notable guests, Yoshihiro Tatsumi. He will be attending PEN, as well as the Toronto Comics Arts Festival the following week, with designer and graphic novelist Adrian Tomine.
If you haven’t yet, definitely check out his work that Drawn & Quarterly has published in the US, the available three of which will help build you up for his upcoming 840-page monster, A Drifting Life. The two panels you can catch the legendary manga-ka at are “Yoshihiro Tatsumi and Kathrin Röggla: Modern Day Salarymen” on April 30th, and “Revolutionary Writers: Yoshihiro Tatsumi in Conversation with Adrian Tomine” on May 2nd.
