June 24, 2008 Starting June 27 at the Film Society of Lincoln Center and running through July 1 is a series dedicated to the work of Satoshi Kon, who will be on hand to speak on stage about his films, as well. As someone in the general New York area, it pains me that I won’t be able to attend these screenings, but anyone else that’s around here should jump at this opportunity to see all four of his feature films-Perfect Blue, Millennium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers and Paprika-as well as the first seven episodes of Paranoia Agent.
Kon’s extended talk will take place after the Friday evening screening of Paprika, and that’s sure to be a treat. Tickets can be purchased at the Film Society’s website (information is near the bottom), and are standard as far as NYC-area movie prices go. I’d love to hear from any of you that can make this event. Leave a comment and brag about it!
