Featured Spotlight:

The range of genres within

selection of Webtoons is vast, and there’s no better way to get hooked than to start out with a thriller. You’ll find plenty that fit the bill on Spottoon, from DD’s The Watching to Chongtak’s inimitable Coffin Jackson

If you’re wondering which series you should kick off your Webtoon journey with and why, dig in below for a closer look at what makes these particular online comics so uniquely thrilling.

The artist behind the hit Webtoon Preta is back with more of his unique drawing style and another truly heart-pounding story. The Watching centers on a loner named Mi-hun, who starts experiencing strange things after an encounter with the mysterious raincoat-wearing man that just moved in next door. It looks like he could be connected to a rash of unexplainable spontaneous human combustion incidents, and Mi-hun might just regret ever casting his eyes upon this situation in the first place.

Once you’ve inevitably blazed through The Watching, you’ll likely want more right away. Thankfully, The Surviving is DD’s sequel, this time focusing on a girl named Na-Young and her encounter with some truly strange ‘things’ that appear one night in her school. Just like its predecessor, The Surviving will keep you guessing until the end.

Kang Full’s Timing kicks off when a high school teacher and diviner named Ja-gi Park wakes up after foreseeing a mass suicide. According to her vivid dream it’s going to happen in 10 days, so it’s up to her and a group of time manipulators to stop it before it’s too late. As wild as Ja-gi’s premonition is, even more is revealed as the big day approaches and mysteries begin to unravel.

Following up on Timing is sequel series Again, one of the more recent additions to Spottoon’s library. Creator Kang Full is one of the top artists to inspire Korean film adaptations, and it’s easy to see why. Again takes place four years after the incident of Timing, presenting a new mystery and plenty of danger to those who survived.

Chongtak’s Coffin Jackson follows Roman, a mortician who disposes of bodies for a vicious gangster. As you might have guessed, this business has its fair share of hazards, and betrayal, unexpected partnerships, and a shocking acquisition will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat.

Once you get started on any of these thrill rides you’ll find it incredibly difficult to stop. See why more and more comic fans are seeking out the excitement of Webtoons with a visit to
