2.5 Dimensional Seduction Anime Shares 1st Sexy Trailer

The upcoming anime 2.5 Dimensional Seduction (a.k.a. 2.5 Jigen no Yūwaku in Japanese) dropped its first sexy promotional video, which lets us know that it will debut next year. It also revealed some info on the cast and staff.

Looking at what we now know about the cast, Junya Enoki plays Masamune Okumura, Kaori Maeda plays Ririsa Amano (which is spelled as Lilysa Amano in the English translation of the manga), and Akari Kitō plays Mikari Tachibana.

The anime is being made at J.C. Staff, with Hideki Okamoto of Bakugan: Evolutions helming the project as director. The task of series composition has been given to Takao Yoshioka, who is known for working on Horimiya. Credit for character design goes to Tomoyuki Shitaya of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma. The music is composed by Hiroaki Tsutsumi, who has worked on Dr. STONE.

The anime is based on a manga by Yū Hashimoto, which debuted in 2019. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in English and gave this description for its plot:

“I have no interest in real girls!” So claims Okumura, the president of the school’s manga club. He’s your typical otaku, obsessed with a sexy (fictional) 2D manga character known as Lilliel. Then the new school year starts, and a (real!) 3D girl named Lilysa whose passion is cosplay joins the club. Lilysa convinces Okumura to become her photographer–and guess who her favorite manga character is? Not only that, but Lilysa is into modeling the fetishy stuff! The boundaries between 2D and 3D start to blur as this hot-blooded romantic comedy unfolds.

It’s published through Seven Seas Entertainment’s Ghost Ship imprint. Seven Seas explains that Ghost Ship is “an imprint of Seven Seas Entertainment dedicated to sexy manga for mature readers! Distributed by Penguin Random House, Ghost Ship books can be found at most retailers in both print and digital formats.”
