Inuyasha, Sailor Moon SuperS, File of Young Kindaichi VA Taiki Matsuno Has Passed

There is sad news coming out of Japan as we learn about the passing of voice actor Taiki Matsuno, who was only 56. His talent agency Aoni Production says the cause of death was a right cerebral hemorrhage.

WebMD explains:

A brain hemorrhage is a type of stroke. It’s caused by an artery in the brain bursting and causing localized bleeding in the surrounding tissues. This bleeding kills brain cells.

Brain hemorrhages are also called cerebral hemorrhages, intracranial hemorrhages, or intracerebral hemorrhages. . .

Since some brain hemorrhages can be disabling or life-threatening, it’s important to get medical help fast if you think someone is having one.

Matsuno might be closest to the franchise The File of Young Kindaichi, because he voiced Hajime Kindaichi. But that’s only the start of his credentials, as he was a prolific voice actor lending his talents to many shows. He was Koga in Inuyasha and InuYasha: The Final Act, Pegasus/Helios in Sailor Moon SuperS, Agumon parts of the Digimon franchise, Jun Manjōme in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Tomisaburō Tengai in Beast Fighter – The Apocalypse, Tart in the Fresh Pretty Cure, Yuzuru Narita in Mirage of Blaze, Trébol in One Piece, House Spirit in xxxHOLiC the Movie: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Tsutomu Saki in Star Dust, Hiroto Majima in Magical Project S, ShineGreymon in Digimon Xros Wars: The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time, and more. He also played the Little Prince in The Adventures of the Little Prince, using the name Tatsuya Matsuno for the credits.

He did acting work outside of anime as well, including being the dub voice for SpongeBob SquarePants from season 4 onward.

His family has chosen to have a private funeral ceremony. Matsuno’s talents touched people around the world and earned him many fans. We send our condolences to his friends and family.
