An anime adaptation was announced for the Zatsu Tabi -That’s Journey- manga by Kenta Ishizaka back in May 2023, and now we have some additional information. The TV anime adaptation is now set to premiere sometime n 2025, and you can get a taste of what’s in the works in the teaser trailer and visual featuring protagonist Chika Suzugamori—who will be voiced by Hika Tsukishiro—below.
This will be Hika Tsukishiro’s first major role in a TV anime. Here’s what the actor had to say about it:
“When I heard that I was going to be a part of the show, I was filled with the happy feeling, ‘Really? Am I going to play Chika-chan!?’ I was so happy that I froze for a while! I will do my best to convey the joy and splendor of traveling to everyone with Chika-chan and her friends, so please look forward to the broadcast of the anime!”
The Zatsu Tabi manga centers around a college student, Chuka Suzugamori, who’s trying—and failing—to become a pro manga artist, and who decides to travel without any goal in mind.
Masaharu Watanabe (Re:ZERO) is directing, with Yoshiko Nakamura (Tadaima, Okaeri) on series composition, rere on character designs and Yoshiaki Fujiwara (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation) on music for the Makaria production.
