White Magician Exiled From the Hero Party

Sora Suigetsu and DeeCHA’s White Magician Exiled From the Hero Party, Picked Up by S-Rank Adventurer light novels have been around since March 2020, and there’s also a manga adaptation by Wasabi Mukuno that’s been serialized since May 2021. Next up for the series is an anime adaptation, a teaser trailer for which arrived alongside a key visual, the main cast and July 2025 broadcast plans.

Note that, while the Japanese title is Yuusha Party o Tsuiho Sareta Shiro Madoshi, S-Rank Bokensha ni Hirowareru: Kono Shiro Madoshi ga Kikakugai Sugiru, the official website has the featured English translation listed. We’ll have to see if the title sticks if and when someone licenses it.

Hiroshi Yamada (Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for My Retirement) is on board as director, with Akihiko Inari on series composition and Yuta Ito on character designs for the Felix Film production. Here’s the official synopsis:

“We don’t need a white magician who isn’t good enough.” One day, Lloyd, a white magician, is expelled from a hero party. Lloyd has lost his job, but he happens to accompany the S-rank party on their quest. At this time, no one knew that the hero party would collapse and Lloyd would gain fame – yet. This is the story of a substandard user of support magic who thinks he is normal, becomes an adventurer, and unknowingly has an unparalleled ability.
