We’re getting closer to the January 10 premiere of the Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! anime, which adapts the reverse isekai light novel series written by Makishima Suzuki and illustrated by Yappen. While we wait, the official accounts for the series shared an updated piece of key art with a new spring twist.
The earlier version of the key visual below had an autumnal vibe, but this one swaps it out for a “Cherry Blossom version” set during a nice spring day.
Yusuke Kobayashi is in the lead alongside Kaede Hondo as Kazuhiro Kitase and Marie, respectively. The anime is being directed by Toro Kitahata (Haganai NEXT), with Aya Yoshinaga (Golden Kamuy) on scripts and Madoka Hirayama (Love Live! Sunshine!!) handling character designs and chief animation direction at production house Zero-G.
J-Novel Club publishes the novels and the manga adaptation and sums up the story like so:
Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! Plot
Kazuhiro Kitase’s only hobby is sleeping. Ever since he was young, he would enter a wondrous world within his dreams and go on thrilling adventures. One day, he goes on an adventure with an elf girl he became friends with in his dream world, but it’s put to an abrupt halt when they both get scorched with a dragon’s breath! As he wakes up from his dream, he notices a familiar figure sleeping next to him…the elf girl from his dreams?! Join Kazuhiro on his new adventures through Japan with Ms. Elf!
