This Season’s Anime Couples Just Aren’t That Into Each Other

This season's anime couples have a problem - they don't like each other.

This new season is full of cute anime couples to follow! From young love to eternal love, from childhood crushes to weddings, it’s all here. But we can’t help but notice that there’s a small problem with a few of these pairings. Mainly, they’re just not into each other.

Whether he’s avoiding her, she’s avoiding him, or they’re both against the whole thing, these rom-coms are full of conflict right at the source. Will these troubled twosomes ever end up together?

Clarke and Leticia

I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons

On the high-class end of this season’s anime couples, we have Prince Clarke and his fiancée Leticia. Marrying a prince means learning how to act like a princess. And if the title of I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons is any indication, Leticia is having a terrible time. As the series begins, it would seem she’s been freed of her royal obligations. Now free to frolic and fish to her heart’s content, Leticia heads home. There’s just one problem: Clarke never technically broke off the engagement.

Leticia just wants to be free to be herself. Clarke’s new potential bride also wants to escape from princess lessons. And Clarke? Well, he’s still super into Leticia. Will the two find common ground, or will she stay solo? Start watching I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons and find out!

Akane and Saito

I'm Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class

Saito Hojo and Akane Sakuramori hate each other with a passion. But if Saito wants to inherit the family business, he’s going to have to join this season’s happy anime couples… otherwise, his job goes to a dog! The pair’s grandparents, having fallen in love late in life, want to ensure that their grandkids don’t let a good thing pass them by. In other words, Saito’s getting married to a girl he hates in his class. What’s more, Akane apparently has her own secret reasons for sticking with the arrangement.

The two have to live together in their (admittedly nice) new house. And yes, they have to share a bed. They’re determined to make sure no one at school finds out. Never mind romance… can they even find common ground in this scenario? I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class is streaming on Crunchyroll, so watch along and find out!

Medaka and Mona

Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms

Mona Kawai is used to being adored wherever she goes. She’s kind of made it her whole personality. So when new boy Medaka Kuroiwa actively ignores her, it kind of stings a little. She becomes determined to get his attention, come hell or high water. But don’t get it twisted—it’s not because she has a thing for him. It’s just the principle of the thing. Right?

What Mona doesn’t know is that Medaka is a monk in training, forbidden from falling in love. And he’s doing a great job keeping it all inside, because he actually does find Mona especially irresistible. See how these two get along as Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms streams on Crunchyroll!
