Do you know what February 22 is in Japan? It’s Cat Day, of course! As soon as the clock hit midnight, Japan saw fit to unleash as much anime news as it could find about cats, and that includes the reveal of an anime based on Amara’s The Cat and the Dragon light novels.
Beyond that, details are light, but you can see an announcement promo, followed by celebratory illustrations from light novel illustrator Mai Okuma and manga adaptation artist Izumi Sasaki below.

Izumi Sasaki:
Takarajimasha publishes the light novels and manga adaptation in Japan. The story of The Cat and the Dragon is all about a fire-breathing dragon that hates humans and is raised in the forest by a mother cat. Known as “Uncle Wing,” the dragon watches over a bunch of cats, including one that ventures out with a human prince and another that enjoys people-watching. In the process, the dragon begins to warm up to humans.
