Tamayura Anime Event Hit with COVID-19 Delay

tamayuraThe Tamayura series—which started with an anime project conceived by Junichi Sato in 2010 and went on to inspire OVAs, a TV anime, and a series of four films—was supposed to have a special event this October, but those plans have changed. With COVID-19 concerns remaining, the Tamayura Alumni Association event has been moved from October 10, 2021 to April 24, 2022.

The event was originally planned for 2020, which would have marked the series’ 10th anniversary. The event staff had recently been uncertain about their ability to hold the event this year, as well, and they finally came to a decision on Saturday.

In addition to the original series of OVA volumes and two seasons of TV anime—one in 2011 and the second in 2013—the four Tamayura films fall under the Tamayura: Sotsugyo Shashin (Tamayura: Graduation Photos) title. The first part opened in Japan in 2015, and the fourth and final film closed things out in 2016.
