Back in February, we learned that Rent-a-Girlfriend author Reiji Miyajima’s The Shiunji Family Children manga is next up for an anime adaptation. While we still have much to learn about the series, we now know that Doga Kobo is the animation studio behind the production.
Doga Kobo is a prolific studio that has been behind some big productions recently, including the hit Oshi no Ko anime. Other recent series include the likes of RPG Real Estate, Sing “Yesterday” for Me, Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle and this season’s Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian, among many more.
Prior to the studio’s latest update, Kadokawa announced the acquisition of Doga Kobo earlier this month.
Speaking of Kadokawa, the company said more information about The Shiunji Family Children anime will be revealed soon. In the meantime, it shared the character silhouette visual for a little enticement below.

Three volumes have been published in Japan so far, and Yen Press releases The Shiunji Family Children in English. Here’s the official description:
The Shiunji Family Children Synopsis
The love between brother and sister. The love between man and woman. That which is most forbidden is most unyielding. The two sons and five daughters of the Shiunji family shine like brilliant gems, each with intelligence and beauty in equal measure. And with the pedigree of their wealthy father behind them, how could they not be the talk of the town? Eldest son Arata has spent his life being tossed around by the whims of his colorful sisters, yet a little teasing won’t stop him from valuing his family over anything and anyone else. But when his youngest sister turns fifteen, their father reveals a long-hidden secret of the Shiunji “siblings” and knocks Arata’s world off its axis…
Reiji Miyajima fans have a lot to look forward to. In addition to The Shiunji Family, plans for Rent-a-Girlfriend season 4 were recently revealed. There’s also a Rent-a-Girlfriend video game on the way sometime in 2024.
