Ryoutarou Iwanaga’s Pumpkin Scissors manga went on hiatus back in March 2020, but it’s finally getting ready to return. According to an announcement in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine, the series will resume serialization on April 6, which is when the May 2024 issue of the magazine hits stands in Japan.
The Pumpkin Scissors manga first started its run in 2002 in the pages of Kodansha’s Magazine Great before moving to Monthly Shonen Magazine in 2006. 23 volumes have been released thus far, and the series previously inspired a TV anime adaptation that started in October 2006 and ran for 24 episodes.
Kodansha USA publishes the manga in English and describes it like so:
The bitter war between the Empire and the Republic of Frost has ended, but three years after the ceasefire, the Empire is still ravaged by starvation and disease, and bandits terrorize the populace. Can the Imperial Army State Section III, aka Pumpkin Scissors, stop a renegade force with chemical weapons? And who is the mysterious stranger helping Pumpkin Scissors?
