Space Battleship Yamato compilation film The Era of Space Battleship Yamato: The Choice of 2202 A.D. was originally scheduled to open in Japan on January 7, but the second state of emergency declaration caused a delay. Now the film finally has a new release date, with 36 theaters scheduled to screen it on June 11.
The Choice of 2202 A.D. covers both Space Battleship Yamato 2199 and Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love for a total of a 120-minute runtime. The special limited edition Blu-ray of the film—as well as its digital version on Amazon Prime Video and other services—will launch on the same day. The limited edition Blu-ray will be sold in theaters, and general sales of the DVD/Blu-ray will follow on August 26.
