A lot of readers ’round here are looking forward to the new Sakura Wars anime. Now we finally know when it’s set to hit screens: April 3.
We’ve also got a new look to the series’ opening and ending via the official Twitter account.
The opening theme song is called “Geki! Teikoku Kagekidan – Shinshо̄,” while the ending is “Sakura Yumemishi.”

The series, which is officially titled Shin Sakura Taisen the Animation (that’s New Sakura Wars the Animation in English), is directed by Manabu Ono (Sword Art Online: Alicization) and animated at studio Sanjigen. It’s written by Ono and Tatsuhiko Urahata (Hi Score Girl). Kohei Tanaka returns to the franchise to provide tunes.
