May 5, 2011 When last we saw our old pals of Voltron: Defender of the Universe fame they were hitting DVD shelves courtesy of Media Blasters, who released both the English version and the original material, Beast King GoLion and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV. Now there’s a new defender on the block, World Events Productions, and they’ve just signed a home video partnership with Classic Media.
That means it’s time to experience the ’80s mecha adventure on DVD once more, just in time to coincide with the new series premiering in June on Nicktoons, Voltron Force. The first volume, Voltron: Defender of the Universe – The Legend Begins, will collect the first 7 episodes and retail for $12.98 this August.
Among the bonus materials are an intro to all things Voltron, an art slide show (which includes fan art and other interpretations) and a Voltron Force sizzle reel.
