Netflix’s Kotaro Lives Alone Anime Gets Worldwide Premiere Date

kotaro lives alone

Coming soon to Netflix is an anime adaptation of Mami Tsumura’s comedy manga Kotaro Lives Alone, AKA Kotaro wa Hitori Gurashi. Now the anime has a worldwide premiere date that sees it making its Netflix debut on March 10.

The Kotaro Lives Alone manga kicked off in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Superior magazine back in March 2015, and previously came to life in a live-action TV drama adaptation last spring. In the story, 4-year-old Kotaro Sato moves next door to an unsuccessful manga artist named Shin Karino. Kotaro lives along and can be kind of annoying, but Karino eventually begins to understand why he lives alone, and the two grow closer.

The anime is being directed by Tomoe Makino (Woodpecker Detective’s Office), with Yu Sato (Space Battleship Tiramisu) on series composition and Tomomi Kimura (TSUKIPRO THE ANIMATION) on character designs for the Liden Films production. Check out the trailer below.
