Back in February we learned that the Murai in Love anime—which adapts the rom-com manga by Junta Shima—is set to premiere on Disney+ this fall. Now, following some teasers, we have the first full trailer along with confirmation of an October 2024 debut.

The preview also introduces new cast members and the ending theme song, which will have Yabai T-Shirt Ya-san performing “Suko.” New cast members include Kohei Amasaki as Kiriyama, Haruki Ishiya as Hirai and Masaya Matsukaze as Yamakado, with Hochu Ohtsuka narrating. Check out the new trailer and key visual below.

The Murai in Love anime has Yoshiki Yamakawa (Hi Score Girl) directing, with Susumu Yamakawa (The Way of the Househusband) on scripts for the J.C. Staff production.

The series follows a high school teacher who loves otome games named Tanaka, and a high school boy named Murai who is in love with Tanaka. Murai confesses but is rejected by Tanaka, who has never been in a real-life romance before. This might change, however, when Murai makes a move and transforms himself into the exact likeness of a beloved character from Tanaka’s favorite otome game.
