Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun Sets a Deadline for Love on Home Video

Featured Spotlight:

There are plenty of reasons for Chiyo Sakura to have a crush on her classmate Nozaki, but one of his most striking features is a total secret. Watch as Chiyo finds out the hard way in

now up for pre-order in advance of a March 29 Blu-ray and DVD release.

Confusion really hits a boil for Chiyo when she finally gets the nerve to confess her feelings to Nozaki. Rather than ending up his girlfriend, though, she finds herself working as an assistant to one of the biggest manga creators around. Yep, it turns out that Nozaki is secretly the author behind the works of Yumeno Sakiko, who is responsible for one of the most popular shoujo manga, and now Chiyo is behind the scenes!

While it wasn’t what she intended, being Nozaki’s assistant gives her the perfect opportunity to get closer to him… even if it does mean she has to help him research things like what girls find romantic. Nozaki remains none the wiser to her true intentions, and it’s clear that this is just the beginning for Chiyo’s romantic frustration.

Based on the four-panel romantic comedy manga by Izumi Tsubaki, the Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun anime originally ran from July to September 2014. Mitsue Yamazaki (Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East) directs, with Yoshiko Nakamura (Wooser’s Hand-to-Mouth Life: Awakening Arc) on series composition for the Doga Kobo production. Sentai Filmworks’ home video release is available in both standard and limited edition versions, the latter of which packs in plenty of physical goodies. You’ll also be able to enjoy it in the original Japanese or the new dub, featuring the likes of Juliet Simmons as Chiyo Sakura, Ty Mahany as Umetaro Nozaki, Monica Rial as Yu Kashima, and Scott Gibbs as Mikoto Mikoshiba.
