Kumako Hisama’s four-panel manga Ichijyoma Mankitsu Gurashi! (Living in a One-Tatami Room!) is coming to the screen in an anime adaptation. A TV anime was revealed in the latest issue of Manga Time Kirara magazine, which serves as home to the series.
As for when we can expect it or who is involved in the production, we’ll have to wait for further details. Hisama did share the following celebratory illustration, though:
The Ichijyoma Mankitsu Gurashi! manga has been running since 2018, and the fourth collected volume is set to hit shelves in Japan on July 26. The series follows second-year high schooler Meiko Morita as she moves from the countryside to Tokyo. It’s there that she ends up meeting a colorful cast of characters while working at Hedgehog, which doubles as a manga café and a girls’ dorm.
