how to become ordinary

An anime adaptation was announced for Honobu Yonezawa’s How to Become Ordinary (Shoshimin) light novel series in January, and now a new cast member has been thrown into the mix. The latest update has Makoto Furukawa (Taiju Oki in Dr. STONE) voicing the protagonist’s athletic, polite friend Kengo Dojima.

Here’s a look at his design:

Said protagonist, Jogoro Kobato, is being voiced by Shuichiro Umeda, who stars in the anime alongside Hina Yomiya as Yuki Osanai.

The How to Become Ordinary plot follows a cynical boy and a shy but insightful girl, both of whom have trouble fitting in. They’re hoping to start fresh with a new life as ordinary high school kids, but a series of mysterious incidents dash those plans in short order.

The anime adaptation is being directed by Mamoru Kanbe (THE PROMISED NEVERLAND), with Toshiya Ono on series composition, Atsushi Saito on character designs and Takahiro Obata on music for the Lapin Track production.
