Give It All (Ganbatte Ikimasshoi) is a 3DCG anime film that’s on the way to theaters in Japan on October 25. The sports film—which focuses on competitive rowing—adapts the award-winning 1996 novel by Yoshiko Shikimura, and the latest update is here with a main trailer and a sample of the main theme song.

The film’s theme is “Sora-ino no Mizushibuki” (“Sky Blue-Colored Splash”), and it features a performance by Boku ga Mitakatta Aozora, a girl idol group. You can check it out below, followed by a look at the main visual.

Yuhei Sakuragi (Ashita sekai ga owaru to shite mo) directs the film and also writes the script along with fellow writer Keiichiro Ochi (The Quintessential Quintuplets). Other staff members include character designer Asako Nishida (Land of the Lustrous) and the film is being animated at Studio Moe and REIRS with Shochiku distributing.

Sora Amamiya voices Eiko Murakami alongside Miku Ito as Hime Saeki, Rie Takahashi as Riina Takahashi, Akari Kito as Miyoko Hyodo, Ikumi Hasegawa as Mayumi Inomoto, Ayana Taketatsu as Umeko Tarao, Suzuko Mimori as Mai Ono and Aya Uchida as Kaori Yasuda.

The visual’s tagline says, “We will not give up. I can say that with all of us.”

Give It All was previously adapted into a live-action film in 1998, and a live-action drama series followed in 2005. The story is set in Matsuyama City in Ehime Prefecture, and follows five girls who come together to compete as part of the competitive rowing team at their high school.

The film premiered at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival 2024 in June, and is described like so:

Give It All Synopsis
