June 25, 2012 Hello, my otaku friends! It is SUMMER! This is the time for Conventions, and conventions mean Cosplay! I am so excited!
Today I am happy to report on the American convention Anime Mid-Atlantic! Anime Mid-Atlantic just finished its 12th annual event the weekend of June 15- 17. It is very special to me because it was the first convention I went to in America. I remember my first panel with Otaku USA and introducing Maid Cafés to the USA. I even remember giving Darth Vader my “YUNMAO AYAKAWA OFFICIAL CHOICE AWARD” at the Masquerade! It was also exciting to cosplay for the first time in America and also see so many great costumes.
Well it has been 6 years since my debut at Anime Mid-Atlantic and I am happy to say that each year cosplayers get better and better! Please keep it up! I have been a guest at AMA many times but this year I was not able to attend, but luckily I received many fun pictures of cosplayers from my scouts.
