Fall Anime Adaptations That Need to Keep Going

These fall anime adaptations need to continue if we're going to get to the best bits!

Lots of fall anime, as with other seasons, comes from manga. Many of those manga are ongoing, and you can read them as we speak. That also means, as their (so far) single-cour runs approach completion, we haven’t seen some of our favorite parts come to life yet. Even with four or five episodes left to go on all these titles, there’s still so much to do!

With winter 2025 fast approaching, here are three current anime that need renewing so we can see some of the manga’s best material. (Don’t worry, we’ll keep it as vague as we can and show you where you can read the manga for yourself.) And if any of these series do get second seasons, we’ll make sure to announce it right here on Otaku USA!

Nina the Starry Bride: Mystery and Mythology

Nina the Starry Bride

Nina the Starry Bride brings a one-two punch of love geometry and political intrigue to the fall anime season. The orphaned Nina finds herself pressed into taking on the role of deceased priestess-princess Alisha. This leads to complicated romances with two noble figures: her “brother” Prince Azure, and her betrothed Prince Sett. The next few episodes promise to be packed, but even they couldn’t encapsulate everything that’s been happening in the manga.

For instance, we know that Nina’s blue eyes are a big deal. They’re why she got recruited, after all. But why they’re a big deal is a story expanded on as the manga continues. As Nina finds herself whisked away to other countries, she discovers surprising truths about herself, the real Princess Alisha, and the blue eyes they share. Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc.: Upgrades and Advancements

Magilumiere Co. Ltd.

Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. is one of several magical girl shows this fall anime season. But we’re pretty sure they’re the only magical girl team with an IT field. The anime adaptation so far has shown us what a world with magical girl businesses looks like, from software to expos. But the still-running manga lifts the curtain on the operation even more!

One of our favorite recent events in the series is the girls’ BROOM upgrade. You’ll have seen Kana and Hitomi on their high-tech flying machines in the show. But they have a very special tech whiz who customizes their new models in the manga. Plus, it’s now Kana’s turn to play magical girl senpai—something we’d love to see play out in the anime. Want to read on? Viz is releasing the manga, and it’s free to read for Shonen Jump app subscribers!

DAN DA DAN: It Just Gets Weirder

Dan Da Dan

Blasting its way through the fall anime season is DAN DA DAN, a series that is completely worth the hype. As we saw in recent episodes, Momo and Okarun are recruiting new supernaturally-enhanced allies. Manga readers know that just keeps happening, leading to a veritable army of paranormal pals. That’s way more than this season can cram into the last few episodes.

Who joins up? More ghost- and alien-adjacent people, of course. If the Acrobatic Silky story arc drove you to tears, hang tight: there’s lots more of that. There’s idols and board game monsters and imps and shrimps and much, much more. But we also get the feeling that this one will continue. Can’t wait that long? This one is in the Shonen Jump app, too!
