omniscient reader

Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint is a web novel series that became a popular webtoon by Sing Shong and Sleepy-C (Redice Studio), originally running from 2018 to 2020. Now, as revealed at Anime Expo 2024 over the weekend, Aniplex and Crunchyroll are teaming up to bring the series to life in an anime adaptation.

The release date is still TBD, but Crunchyroll plans to stream it as it airs for members in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS and Indian subcontinent. Check out the first teaser trailer and key visual below.

Yen Press sub-label Ize Press publishes the series in English. Here’s how Crunchyroll describes the story:

Dokja was an average office worker whose sole interest was reading his favorite web novel ‘Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse.’ But when the novel suddenly becomes reality, he is the only person who knows how the world will end. Armed with this realization, Dokja uses his understanding to change the course of the story, and the world, as he knows it.
