A Side Character’s Love Story Manga Lands Live-Action Film

A Side Character's Love Story Manga Lands Live-Action FilmA Side Character’s Love Story, the manga by Akane Tamura, is getting the live-action film treatment. The film will be released in 2024.

The manga, set in Hiroshima, is about a woman in her 20s who considers herself a “side character,” but must assert herself now that she’s fallen in love for the first time.

A Side Character’s Love Story started in Monthly Comic Zenon in 2017, and is still running.

Here’s how Azuki describes the manga:

Growing up, Nobuko Tanaka was always a “side character” standing off in the corner. Now in her 20s, she’s fallen in love for the first time. While she isn’t any good at being assertive, she will muster her courage bit by bit as she tries her best to close the distance between herself and her crush – because even side characters fall in love.
