Kaito’s light novel series A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration Hero has an anime adaptation in the works, and the latest news has it landing on TV in Japan this July. Tomoki Kobayashi (Remake Our Life) is directing the anime, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu on series composition, Shoko Yasuda on character designs and Keiji Inai on music for the Gekkou production.
Previously announced cast members include Yuya Hozumi as protagonist Kaito Takagi and Kana Hanazawa as main heroine Sylphy. The story follows high schooler Kaito, who also happens to work part-time exploring the dungeons that have been popping up across Japan. Thanks to his low stats he spends all his time hunting lowly slimes, until he one day encounters a golden slime that drops a rare servant card, allowing him to summon a powerful battle maiden known as a Valkyrie. Needless to say, this changes his low-level slime hunting plans immensely.
