Sono Keisatsukan, Tokidoki Yaju! Anime Adapting Adult Manga Canceled

Sono Keisatsukan

An anime adaptation was on the way this year for Sigma Torai’s adult manga Sono Keisatsukan, Tokidoki Yaju! (That Policeman, Sometimes a Beast!), but that is now no longer the case. According to the official website, the adaptation has been canceled due to “various circumstances.”

Kazuhiro Toda (I Want to Be His Prey) was lined up as chief director, with Saburou Miura (Show Time!) directing and writing scripts for the Rabbit Gate production.

The original manga is serialized via Ichijinsha’s LOVEBITES e-book label and has been collected in 10 volumes with two million copies in circulation thus far. The story follows Hiyori, a timid office worker who runs into a policeman named Kumano after breaking her arm in an accident. Since he was present, Kumano feels responsible and decides to live with Hiyori while she heals. While he makes her feel at ease as a policeman, Hiyori soon learns that Kumano has very little self-restraint.

Author Sigma Torai also created the Omiai Aite wa Oshiego, Tsuyoki na, Mondaiji. manga, which inspired an AnimeFesta anime in October 2017 that streamed in English via Coolmic as My Matchmaking Partner is a Student, An Aggressive Troublemaker.
