Kirio Fanclub Manga’s Live-Action Series Reveals Cast, Airdate

Kirio Fanclub Manga’s Live-Action Series Reveals Cast, AirdateLast September brought the news that Kirio Fanclub, the manga by Ponchan Chikyu no Osakana about two high school girls who have a crush on the same classmate, would be getting both anime and live-action adaptations.

Today we’ve got some news on the latter. The series has revealed its main two cast members as well as its premiere date: April 2.

Kirio Fanclub will star Mizuki Kayashima (live-action Oshi no Ko) as Aimi Miyoshi, and Riko (Class of Cheaters) as Nami Sometani, two girls united by their devotion to the titular Kirio-kun. Manga author Ponchan Chikyu no Osakana uploaded an illustration of the two leads to X to celebrate the news. The author also commented:

I met Mizuki Kayashima and Riko before the shooting. I remember how impressed I was. Immediately thereafter, I remember feeling guilty and excited about making them say lines like “fart” and “poop.” The cast and crew warmly embraced even my flustered excitement.

The series is directed by Hatsuki Yokō, who also helmed the live-action version of Inside Mari.
