100+ New Titles to Discover at Tokyo Indie Games Summit 2025

If you find yourself in Tokyo in a couple of weeks and love indie games, the TOKYO INDIE GAMES SUMMIT 2025 is the place to be to learn about up-and-coming video games from Japan and beyond. This year’s event brings together over 100 indie game titles. 

Phoenixx Inc. will organize the annual event on March 8 and 9, 2025, at Musashino Kokaido in Kichijoji, Tokyo. Whether you’re a passionate gamer, an aspiring game developer, or just looking for a fun day out, this event has something for everyone. Note that March 8 is open to Business ticket holders only. March 9 is open to the public with a pre-purchased ticket.

A Showcase of Indies to the World

The TOKYO INDIE GAMES SUMMIT serves as a vibrant meeting place for developers, publishers, and players, highlighting the best of indie gaming. Attendees will have the opportunity to go hands-on with a diverse selection of indie games, including:

  • Deperson – A surreal, branching-narrative visual novel by Error Thing (PC via Steam)
  • Building Relationships – A comedic adventure-meets-dating sim (you play a house. Yes. A house.) by Tan Ant Games (PC via Steam, 2025)
  • Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo – A mind-bending visual novel with multi-ending escape adventures by Dank Hearts
  • One Turn Kill – A single-turn PvE deckbuilder by DenDen, published by Waku Waku Games (PC via Steam, 2025)
  • Wanderdawn – An atmospheric hack-and-slash action game by Horousamatolune (PC via Steam, 2026)
  • IZON. – A creation-meets-destruction action game by CREEK & RIVER Co., Ltd. (PC via Steam)
  • Byte Survivor – A resource-collecting action game by minmuu (PC via Steam, Q2 2025)

These are just a few of the titles set to be featured at the event, with many more waiting to be discovered.

From cozy feel-good games like Bouquet for You, chilling mystery games like Killa, or silly side scrollers like The Strongest Tofu, you will surely find a nice list of games to wishlist this year. There’s even a game in development about the life and dreams of a trash can looking to go to Coney Island called Trash Can Dreams, a fitting title!

Your visit includes the following:

● Exhibition and trial play of the latest indie games: Exhibition of the latest games by cutting-edge creators who have passed strict screening from among a large number of titles submitted in Japan and overseas.

  • “Disseminate information to the world” Stage Events: Live streaming of play-by-play and content videos to Japan and overseas through official distribution, PR and information dissemination by sponsor companies, and talk shows with creators and publishers.

Family-Friendly Events

The summit isn’t just for hardcore gamers—there’s plenty for families to enjoy, too! Parents can introduce their children to the world of game development with a free programming workshop by the Kids Programming Academy, designed for elementary school students. Over at Kirarina Keio Kichijoji, families can experience games specifically designed for parents and children to play together. Plus, the event will feature live musical performances, free refreshments, and interactive experiences to make the day even more memorable.

TOKYO INDIE GAMES SUMMIT shares their purpose and latest additions to the event this year:

TOKYO INDIE GAMES SUMMIT started in 2023 in Kichijoji, Musashino City, with the aim of becoming “a place where various talents of indie game creators can gather together and be inspired to pursue their goals”, It is a new indie game event.

In addition, we will further strengthen our efforts with the entire city of Kichijoji and collaborate (condense and deepen) the appeal of indie games and the culture of Musashino City and Kichijoji more deeply than ever before to present to the world a “local x global event. We will show the first step toward becoming a “local x global event. We look forward to seeing you again next year in Kichijoji!

Tickets are now available for General Admission Day (March 9) for 1,000 yen (tax included). Viewers from home can watch the event live-streamed on YouTube, offering a virtual glimpse into the latest indie game updates from Japan.
