Shortly after its premiere earlier this month, the Puniru is a Kawaii Slime anime has a new cast joining the adaptation of Maedakun’s manga. The latest is Ikue Otani—known as the iconic voice behind Pikachu in the Pokémon anime and games—who will voice an entity known as Runrun.

Yushi Ibe is directing the anime, with Michiko Yokote on series composition, Aya Tanaka on character designs and Izumi Mori on music for the TOHO animation STUDIO production.
The Puniru wa Kawaii Slime manga is serialized in Shogakukan’s digital manga magazine Weekly CoroCoro Comic, with four collected volumes in print at the time of this writing. The story follows a young boy named Kotaro and a slime he created named Puniru, which took the form of a cute and carefree girl.
