It’s France, and the year is 1792, right at the height of the French Revolution. There’s more going on here than you may have read in the history books, though, as the counter-revolutionary aristocracy finds itself forging a dangerous alliance with a being ominously referred to as the Vampire Messiah. This so-called messiah aims to create eternal darkness and unleash their army of vampires and night creatures to crush the revolution and enslave humanity once and for all.
This is a troubling development for the revolution, which is why Caribbean sorceress Annette seeks out the aid of Richter Belmont, the last descendant of the renowned family of vampire hunters known as the Belmonts. Together with his adoptive sister Maria Renard and an ever-growing assortment of allies, Richter will have to prevent the apocalyptic rise of a deadly new foe.
