We saw the first trailer for the Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms anime back in May, and now we have another preview along with a release window. It’s a rather wide one, as the series is currently just penciled in for sometime in 2025, but you can see more of what’s on the way in the new teaser below.
The video previews Ryota Iwasaki in the role of Medaka Kuroiwa and Yu Serizawa in the role of Mona Kawai.
There’s also a new character visual:
The anime is being made at Synergy SP, with Yoshiaki Okumura of The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made helming the project as director. The person handling series scripts is Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, whose credits include By the Grace of the Gods and Dropkick on My Devil! The music is being composed by Akiyuki Tateyama, known for working on Laid-Back Camp.
Art direction will be taken care of by Masakazu Miyake of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. Credit for character design goes to Mayumi Watanabe, who has worked on Taisho Otome Fairy Tale and Too Cute Crisis.
Kodansha USA Publishing releases the original manga by Ran Kuze in America, and gave this description for its plot:
Mona is the cutest girl in school, and she knows it. In fact, she’s worked hard to make her high school debut successful. But no matter what she does, she can’t seem to catch the eye of stone-cold stoic Medaka Kuroiwa—but she’s not about to give up that easy. Medaka, on the other hand, has been raised at a temple and was told to never become close to women. Who will win in this heated battle of wills?
Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms was originally a one-shot before it became a whole series. The one-shot debuted in late 2020 in Weekly Shonen Magazine from Kodansha, and the series began in the spring of 2021.
