Hiromasa Okujima’s Babanbabanban Vampire comedy manga has some sort of adaptation in the works, we just don’t know the format yet. According to the wraparound band of the sixth volume, which just hit shelves in Japan, a “media adaptation” has been announced, which could mean anything from anime to live-action.

The story of Babanbabanban Vampire follows a 450-year-old vampire named Ranmaru Mori who works as a live-in part-timer at a public bathhouse. Since he’s on the hunt for the ultimate taste, “the blood of an 18-year-old virgin,” he must protect the virginity of Rihito, the only son of the bathhouse, at all costs. This plan starts to unravel when Rihito falls in love with a girl in his class, kicking up Ranmaru’s desperation.

Here’s what the author had to say about it, as translated by Crunchyroll News: “I am very happy to finally announce that a media adaption has been decided. It is truly thanks to our readers, and fans. I would be more than happy if everyone who finds it enjoys it. Now we have a chance to spread the word!”

Babanbabanban Vampire is currently serialized in Akita Shoten’s Bessatsu Shonen Champion magazine. Here’s a trailer for the manga’s second volume:
