Back in November it was announced that voice actor Yume Miyamoto would be going on a hiatus due to some undisclosed health issues. One of the roles she had to leave behind was that of Nika Nanaura in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, but now we know she is officially ready to return.
While Miyamoto was away, Haruka Shiraishi took on the role as a substitute for episodes 10-12. Miyamoto’s return will coincide with the premiere of the anime’s second season, which is currently slated to premiere this April.
Here’s what her agency, Himawari Theatre Group, had to say about the return:
“After taking a temporary hiatus, we have decided to gradually resume her work while taking into consideration her physical condition. We sincerely apologize to all parties concerned and her fans for any concern and inconvenience this may have caused. We appreciate your continued support for her.”
In addition to her role on Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, Miyamoto’s notable anime roles include Kuwana in Blue Period, Rikka Takarada in SSSS.GRIDMAN and Mai Ninomiya in Josee, The Tiger and the Fish.
