Yoshiichi Akahito, the creator of Corpse Princess, is launching a new manga. It’s called Setsuri Kyōjin Taisen Vampire Myst, and it’s set to hit the webcomic site Comic Bushiroad sometime this month.
It takes place in a world where a red mist swings into town, bringing with it a bunch of demons. Yikes. The good news is there are vampires here to fight them.
Released today to promote the upcoming release of the Vampire Myst manga are a piece of key art and a short teaser video.
Manga-ka Yoshiichi Akahito is best known Stateside for Corpse Princess, which ran from 2005 to 2014 and inspired multiple anime series.
Here’s how Funimation describes the first of those series:
Makina Hoshino is already dead, but she can’t let go of this twisted world. She burned to death along with her entire family in a fire started by freaks that wouldn’t stay buried. Makina knows she doesn’t belong among the living, but that won’t stop her from unleashing the full fury of her twin MAC-11 machine guns on the rotting remains of those who refuse to die.
She’s hell-bent on filling every empty grave she can find with the monsters that should be six feet under. Makina is a Shikabane Hime – a Corpse Princess – and it’s her job to finish off the undead leftovers haunting the dark corners of a city that used to be safe.
