There are a handful of streaming options for simulcast anime and simulpubbed manga, but how about light novels? That’s a niche that J-Novel Club is looking to fill with the launch of a new website that lets readers dig into light novels in English as they’re translated. The service is live as of October 15, and right now they have 4 titles, with 6+ more to be announced by the end of the year.
J-Novel Club’s offerings include weekly installments of the latest light novels from Japan, which are also available to read with an iOS and Android app. When the translations are finished they will be released in final “collectible-quality e-books” sold at retailers such as Amazon, Kobo, iBooks, and more.
Access for an annual membership with J-Novel Club will come to $4.50 a month, and that includes a new weekly chapter from all of their series. There’s also a Premium Membership option that throws in a free premium e-book version of any book in the catalog each month. J-Novel Club is partnering with Hobby Japan and OVERLAP for their launch titles.
