Space Dandy English Dub Trailer Hits Interweb

A quick peek at le Wikipedia shows September 2001 as the month when Cartoon Network spun off its late night Adult Swim channel and introduced the States to a little show called Cowboy Bebop.

Many things have changed since then, but history may repeat itself this January 4th, when Adult Swim premieres Bebop director Shinichiro Watanabe’s new show Space Dandy.

The Toonami programming block will officially premiere the show before it even airs in Japan, complete with English dubbing. Now that’s international cooperation. Toonami has posted a 90-second preview of the series, and if you haven’t checked it out yet, make haste!

Space Dandy
’s English cast features Ian Sinclair (Black Butler) as Dandy, Alison Viktorin (Wolf Children) as QT, and Joel McDonald (Panty and Stocking) as Meow. It’s one of a handful of series that are not only being released simultaneously with Japan, but are also being simultaneously dubbed, a herculean task if there ever was one.

Will Space Dandy recreate the magic of Cowboy Bebop? We will all huddle around the TV late at night like we did back in the early naughts? We’ll find out in a few weeks!
