May 11, 2011 Take note, fans of Demon’s Souls, for there’s a new deadly horror on the horizon. Dark Souls, the spiritual successor to From Software’s 2009 death-bringer, has been tagged with an October 2011 release date. What, you didn’t get brutally slaughtered enough in the first game?
Despite a lack of story connection, the trailer Namco Bandai released (embedded below) shows a game very much in the spirit of Demon’s Souls. One key difference—beyond a much larger and seamless game world—is that Dark Souls will be released for Xbox 360 in addition to Playstation 3.
Though the date doesn’t get more specific than that, it would definitely be appropriate if it leaned closer to Halloween.
