I’m loving this mild wave of trashy cinema coming from Japan lately; it’s like the Japanese gore equivalent of the deluge of Apatow crew comedies in America. The latest comes from a familiar camp, as well. The screenwriter for Yoshihiro Nishimura’s Tokyo Gore Police is the man behind Samurai Princess, which, well, you should probably just take a look at the trailer embedded below. And remember, it’s not exactly safe for work (or small children).
The relative “cheapness” of Princess is right up my alley. and, with Nishimura producing and supervising the makeup, you know the practical effects are going to be pretty wild. Though I’m not exactly sure when we can expect to get soaked in North America, we’ll keep you posted if a date surfaces.
