‘Ippon’ Again! Manga Has Just 4 Chapters to Go

"ippon" again!

It’s the beginning of the end for Yu Muraoka’s “Ippon” Again! (Mo Ippon!) manga, which officially has just four chapters remaining. If the schedule continues as planned, May 9 should mark the date of publication for the final chapter.

The news was revealed in chapter 263 of “Ippon” Again!, which hit shelves in Japan on Thursday. The series first launched in the pages of Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion magazine in October 2018, eventually moving to the publisher’s Manga Cross magazine in April 2023. As of April 8, 28 collected volumes have been published in Japan.

A TV anime adaptation aired in January 2023, with HIDIVE streaming. Here’s how they describe the series:

After one last tournament and an embarrassing loss in the final round, Michi decides to call it quits on the sport of judo. Between high school social activities and entrance exams, she’ll have no time to compete in the martial art she loves most, but putting aside old hobbies is a normal part of growing up. Still, the love of judo lingers—and it comes back full force when she meets her new classmate Towa, the girl who bested Michi in her final match! Towa wants to form a judo club at their school, but she’ll need new members to get it up and running. United by their love of judo, they’ll throw in their passions into the ring together and score ippon again!
